HONOR marked its fifth anniversary as an independent brand since its 2021 relaunch in Malaysia with a celebration event, recognizing the role of local consumers and partners in the brandβs growth within the domestic smartphone market. The Chinese smartphone maker was once a subsidiary of HUAWEI, though the brand was spun off in late 2020 as a result of US sanctions against the former parent company.
HONOR 5th Anniversary Celebrations
During the gala, HONOR acknowledged selected consumers across eight award categories for their contributions through long-term product use, feedback, ecosystem participation and community involvement, which have influenced product refinement and local market relevance. The anniversary coincides with the brand recording the highest sell-out market share for smartphones and tablets in Malaysia in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The company also announced the launch of the HONOR of Malaysia Awards, a long-term corporate social responsibility initiative intended to recognize Malaysians who contribute to society through education, community service and social support. As part of the inaugural phase, three individuals (Mr. Adli, Cikgu Prakash, Mak Jah) were named as recipients for their respective work in autism support, education and community food assistance.
At the same time, HONOR revealed plans for a National Photography Tour in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. The program will focus on documenting Malaysiaβs landscapes, culture and daily life through mobile photography, with selected works scheduled to be featured at the HONOR Global Exhibition 2026.
Pokdepinion: The brand has came a long way for sure, with visible success on its X series in the past few years.
