PHS Automotive Malaysia (Audi local distributor) has launched the third-generation Audi Q5 in Malaysia with two variants, the Audi Q5 Advanced and Audi Q5 Sportback S line. The new Q5 lineup is built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion architecture and features updated exterior styling, revised digital systems, and a range of driver assistance technologies.
Third-Generation Audi Q5 SUV
Both variants are powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI engine paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, with the Q5 Advanced produces 196hp, while the Q5 Sportback S line delivers 268hp. The SUV gets 19-inch wheels as standard, while the S line upgrades that to 20-inch, along with sportier suspension setup, red brake calipers, and Audi quattro all-wheel drive system. The Sportback variant also adopts a coupe-style roofline and S line exterior elements.
At the front, both variants feature Matrix LED headlights with Digital Light Signatures and Coming/Leaving Home lighting functions, whereas the S line additionally includes a projection brake light system designed to improve visibility for following vehicles. Safety and driver assistance systems include Audi Pre Sense, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring with Exit Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Occupant Detection, and a 360-degree surround view camera system.
Inside, the Audi Q5 includes a curved 14.5-inch OLED MMI panoramic display and an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, alongside wireless charging and USB-C charging ports. The Audi Assistant voice control system (which is not powered by ChatGPT, PHSAM has clarified) and Audi Connect services are also integrated into the vehicles.
The Q5 Advanced features Lime Sediment Natural interior inlays and comfort-focused seating, while the Q5 Sportback S line adopts Carbon Micro Twill inlays, sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, head-up display, and a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System. Cargo capacity stands at 520L for the Q5 Advanced and 515L for the Q5 Sportback S line, with expanded storage available when the rear seats are folded (1,473L and 1,415L, respectively). Both variants also include hands-free tailgate operation and three-zone climate control.
The all-new Audi Q5 is offered in multiple exterior color options, including Grenadine Red, Mythos Black, and Glacier White, while additional colors are available for the Q5 Advanced in Navarra Blue and Tambora Grey, whereas Q5 Sportback S line’s exclusive color options include Daytona Grey Pearl and District Green Metallic.
The Q5 Advanced is priced from RM352,990, while the Q5 Sportback S line starts from RM421,990; all new Audi Q5 models are covered by a two-year manufacturer warranty with unlimited mileage (an optional Audi Assurance Package extends warranty coverage to five years or 150,000km, whichever comes first), alongside five years of complimentary maintenance and roadside assistance.
Pokdepinion: Not a fan of its styling personally though, previous Audi designs were better in my opinion.
