Apple today officially introduces its subscription-based Apple Creator Studio suite, which combines its professional creative applications into one package a la Adobe Creative Cloud, but at a much friendlier price, providing an alternative to Mac and iPad users who probably hate Adobe’s aggressive subscription antics (as we all are).

Apple Creator Studio Subscription

One subscription will enable access to several of Apple’s professional creative software, including Final Cut Pro (NLE video editor), Logic Pro (digital audio workstation), and Pixelmater Pro (raster image editing) on Mac and iPad, as well as Motion (visual compositing), Compressor (media encoding), and MainStage (live performance music) exclusively on Mac systems. Besides professional tools, Apple Creator Studio will also enable additional premium features in productivity apps like Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and later Freeform, across Mac, iPad, and iPhone.

Here’s a brief summary of what Apple Creative Studio subscription will enable for productivity apps: premium templates and media assets in Content Hub, AI-assisted features (image generation from text prompts, image upscaling, and Auto Crop); in Keynote, premium features include generated draft and presenter notes, while Numbers get formula generation via Magic Fill. Note that core versions of these apps will continue to remain free and pre-installed on all Apple devices.

One potentially big selling point for the Apple Creator Studio is the pricing. Compared to Adobe’s borderline exorbitant subscription-only model, Apple’s offering will be available through the App Store beginning January 29 (local time), at just RM29.90/month or RM299/year. (Discounted education pricing is offered at RM9.90/month or RM99/year.)

If you don’t like the idea of paying monthly bills for software, fret not, as Apple still offers individual one-time purchases for the apps included in this package though Mac App Store, and they are: Final Cut Pro (RM1,299.90), Logic Pro (RM999.90), Pixelmator Pro (RM229.90), Motion (RM229.90), Compressor (RM229.90), and MainStage (RM129.90).

Pokdepinion: That pricing is downright a steal when compared to Adobe’s equivalents.
