NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER Leak Claim A Slight Improvement Rather Than Large Makeover
Recently, rumors regarding NVIDIAβs RTX 40 βSUPERβ series GPUs have been swirling around thanks to new leaks, and itβs said to involve three new models β the RTX 4080, RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070. We recently covered on the RTX 4070 SUPER, which is claimed to feature 16GB VRAM and a bigger silicon.
Another leak, this time from Benchlife, has claimed that one RTX 4080 variant may incorporate 20GB of VRAM β though it wasnβt explicitly mentioned if this is the SUPER model, based on the information acquired by sources within NVIDIAβs AIB partners. This corroborates with the earlier leak with similar conclusions; however, yet another source courtesy of renowned leaker @kopite7kimi has called this claim into question.
According to kopite7kimi, the RTX 4080 SUPERβs relation to the vanilla card should in principle be βsimilar to that between RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2080β, and further added that RTX 4070 SUPER will allegedly slot in between RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070. In another reply, the leaker has confirmed that RTX 4080 SUPER will be using full AD103 silicon (current RTX 4080 cards uses 95% of all AD103 cores), with faster GDDR6X and higher TGP ceiling.
That could make sense, as silicon quality tends to improve over time on the same node and for a chip as large as GPUs, itβs not often that a fully perfect die is available at scale right away. Thatβs the reason why RTX 4080βs AD103 silicon is only using 95% of the silicon, so as to leave a bit of headroom to make sure thereβs enough supply of chips that meets the binning standards.

Pokdepinion: That makes more sense, given that SUPER wasnβt a big upgrade last time around.Β
