One More Thing: ROG NeoCore Wi-Fi 8 Concept Router

[CES 2026] Here Is The Full Range Of ASUS ROG & Gaming Products Announced In CES 2026 - 46

Finally, as we’re barely getting warmed up with Wi-Fi 7 standard, ASUS has got ahead and demonstrated Wi-Fi 8 connectivity with the new ROG NeoCore concept router. It should be noted that the upcoming Wi-Fi standard is not going to be fully ratified until 2028, but since the draft specification is out, it’s enough for ASUS to start building products (or at least, concepts) with.

The main direction Wi-Fi 8 is heading is less about speed – evidently, most Wi-Fi 7 routers these days can churn out bandwidth faster than most devices can chew. Instead, this new spec will focus on reliability, so while the numbers may not be necessarily become bigger, there will be notable real-life improvements with this new approach. Per ASUS, Wi-Fi 8 will feature things like unequal modulation (UEQM), coordinated beamforming (Co-BF), coordinated spatial reuse (Co-SR), ECDA, and many more aimed to solve issues in connectivity that may emerge outside of ideal (often unachievable in real world) Wi-Fi environments.

Pokdepinion: That is a lot of stuffs, despite what looks to be a relatively quiet year on the consumer space.
