Popular MOBA Vainglory received a major update from the game’s developers, Super Evil Megacorp today. The new update, dubbed Update 2.10, introduces a brand new hero named Lorelai along with some game balance updates as well as a few new character skins.
The new hero, Lorelai is mainly a backline support hero who excels at zone control and team utility. Lorelai’s design is inspired by the Hindu mythology of the Naga, her abilities allow her to control the battlefield, impeding enemy heroes by slowing them down and granting protective shields to her allies. Lorelai’s abilities include:
- That’s Swell ( Heroic Perk): Lorelai’s basic attacks deal crystal damage and she becomes empowered when she’s on a source of water from her abilities. Using an ability while Lorelai’s on a source of water consumes the water she’s on and empowers the ability used.
- Fish Food (A): Lorelai calls upon her aquatic friends at the target location. After 0.8 seconds, her pet clam snaps the area, dealing damage to enemy units inside and stunning them.
- Splashdown (B): Lorelai throws a sphere of water at target location. After a short delay, the water forms a pool for 8 seconds, speeding up allies and slowing enemies inside.
- Waterwall (Ultimate): Lorelai forms a protective veil of water on target allied hero cleansing the target of any movement-impairing effects. (After a short delay, the water barrier drops on the ground, leaving behind a pool for 8 seconds)
The Update 2.10 also adds new character skins to heroes Ardan, Flicker and Adagio, balance updates for various heroes as well as some balance changes to increase minion damage to turrets.
Vainglory have long-awaited for the arrival of a 5v5 mode and developers, Super Evil Megacorp are one step closer in delivering just that.
