The feature is called Optimized Charging, where it’s actually already available on the OnePlus 7 series. What exactly does it do? Should you charge your smartphone before you go to sleep, the feature ensures that your phone will charge to 80%, initially. It will then suspend its charging activity and only charge it to full a 100-minutes before you wake up.

How exactly can it tell (on when you wake up)? It’s all thanks to OnePlus’ sleep cycle detection where it will learn your sleeping patterns and usage, and finally pick a usual waking time.

The feature comes as great news as it’s quite common for people to charge their phones before going to bed and leave it charging for the whole night, which isn’t really helping your battery in the long term.

To find the feature, you can simply go to Settings > Battery > turn on Optimized Charging.
