Overall
5/10The Nintendo Switch clearly has a monstrous demand if itβs continuously getting sold out at this point.
Itβs been about 2 months since the launch of Nintendoβs newest console, or hybrid game console if you want to be more specific about it, but the excitement is still going strong. As many of you know, the Nintendo Switch is selling millions and is often out of stock.
Now, the sales of the new console is becoming even more ridiculous. As Nintendo is gearing up to meet the demands of the public, itβs still just not enough. Letβs take a look into the monstrous sales situation of Nintendoβs new console.

The Nintendo SwitchΒ Continues to be Sold Out

According to Gamestop, and relayed by Forbes, sales of the Nintendo Switch is still going through the roof after about 2 months since its debut. In fact, retailers are claiming that they continue to see the console being sold out on the same day units of it have been restocked.
GameStop Senior Director of Merchandising, Eric Bright, said:
Itβs exceeding our expectations. We knew it would be a high-demand product, but our Switch allocations are selling out not in days, but in hoursβ¦the demand is so high that consumers have to react quickly to be able to get their hands on them.
Nintendo has reportedly doubled the Switchβs production shortly after its launch on March 3rd as the demand for the console was crazy. Unfortunately, this was still clearly not enough to meet the demands of the masses. You start to wonder if Nintendo is purposely not manufacturing enough units or if the Nintendo Switch is simply that popular.

As of March 2017, Nintendo has shipped about 2.74 million units of the brand new console, and about 5.47 million copies of games (overall) for the console. Superdata has predicted that the Nintendo Switch will sell about 12 million units by the end of March 2018. We may actually see it overtake the Nintendo Wiiβs sales record at this rate, which is currently sitting at the top 5 best-sellingΒ consoles of all time.

Pokdepinion: The Nintendo Switch continues to amaze me. Whether Nintendo has been crafty in terms of manufacturing units or not, itβs clearly a popular console. I too believe that it will exceed the Nintendo Wiiβs sales, but I want to see if itβs capable of beating the PlayStation 2 by the end of its life cycle.
