A brand new trailer for The Last of Us Part II has popped up at Paris Games Week. This time around, things look a lot more gruesome than usual.

During Sony Interactive Entertainment’s pre-Paris Games Week press conference, the house of PlayStation showcased another look at The Last of Us Part II.

The trailer actually showcased a look at other members of the cast as opposed to the first game’s iconic protagonists. It also looked quite gruesome, probably even more than many expected.

For those of you who aren’t aware, The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure survival horror game by Naughty Dog, and is the sequel to 2013’s PlayStation hit title, The Last of Us. In early trailers, we’ve seen the return or Ellie and Joel, 5 years after the events of the first game. Players assume control of Ellie, and unlike the previous entry where the story was centered around love, The Last of Us Part II will be centered around hate.

In another trailer for The Last of Us Part II, we were introduced to 4 new characters; Yara, Lev, Emily, and Laura Bailey. While not much is known about those characters, the game’s writer Neil Druckmann mentioned that these characters “are integral to Ellie and Joel’s next journey.”

Of course, don’t expect to see a release date or window at the end of the trailer, because of course there is none. It’s rather likely that the game will take quite a bit longer in the development stage before the final product is released.

Pokdepinion: Well, it’s going to take some time before we see something more concrete on the game but for fans of the first game, this should at least let them know that a sequel is well underway. Can’t wait ’til the game is out.
