HUAWEI Teases Their First Ever Pop-up Camera Smartphone

The folks at HUAWEI Malaysia has uploaded a video teaser of a smartphone. What’s special about it? Well it is their first pop-up camera device and we should expect to see it soon to our market.

In the post, they wrote β€œSoaring, flYing & popping! Something new is rising. Get readY”. As you can see, the letter β€˜Y’ is caps. This would mean that the teaser is about their new HUAWEI Y9 Prime (2019) smartphone.

The HUAWEI Y9 Prime (2019) features a Kirin 710 chipset and runs on EMUI 9, which is based on Android 9 Pie. Packing 4GB RAM, it seems that there are 64GB and 128GB storage options available. You can also expand the storage up to 1TB through a microSD.

In terms of camera, it sports a triple rear camera setup, with it having a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and finally a 2MP depth sensor at the back. As for selfies, there’s the mentioned pop-up camera, which houses a 16MP shooter inside.

Powering it up is a 4000mAh battery which you can charge it through its USB Type-C port. The HUAWEI Y9 Prime (2019) comes in three color variants: Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue.

Pokdepinion: We’ll update more about the device as it makes its way to Malaysia. I’m just glad that it wasn’t the upcoming Mate 30. I’d rather not for it to have a pop-up camera..
