HUAWEI May End Up Using Aurora OS from Russia Instead

Itβs no secret that HUAWEI has been working on their own new mobile OS as an Android replacement since the issue of the ban by the US government came about. From what we know thus far, it may be called Hongmeng OS or it could be Ark OS. However, they may end up not utilizing that in favour of the mobile OS from Russia known as Aurora OS.
According to reports, HUAWEI has been working with Rostelecom along with Russian businessman Grigory Berezkin. Theyβve been in talks with regards to utilizing Aurora OS for their future smartphones.
For those of you who arenβt aware, Aurora OS is the Russian version of the Sailfish OS from Finland. It has been mentioned that the company has been testing devices powered by this mobile OS, and thereβs also a rumour of production localization possibly happening in Russia.
At this point in time, thereβs no official confirmation from both HUAWEI and Rostelecom, and things seem to be kept top secret. If this ends up being true, not only will we not see Android OS on their devices, it may also not be their own homegrown Hongmeng OS / Ark OS. For now, take this information with a grain of salt.

Pokdepinion: Iβm still hoping for that Ark OS / Hongmeng OS, more so out of curiosity. I just hope that weβd at least get access to the Google ecosystem regardless of which OS they plan on going for.
