PC gamers rejoice! The folks over at Larian Studios has announced that owners of the PC version of Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be receiving a free upgrade to the Definitive Edition.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 PC Owners Get Free Upgrade

Divinity: Original Sin 2 became a critical and commercial success last year thanks to its compelling RPG gameplay and co-op experience, and now those on PC will be getting an enticing upgrade to the upcoming Definitive Edition this summer, free of charge.

Developer Larian Studios confirmed on their Facebook page for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that owners of the PC version of the game will be getting the upcoming Definitive Edition as a free upgrade when it arrives in August 2018. This will bring the PC version up to par with the game’s release on consoles.

While the specifics of what exactly the Definitive Edition will contain have yet to be revealed by Larian Studios, the developer did state that “thousands of tweaks and changes are coming in the Definitive Edition,” which means we’ll likely get a number of updates to the game since it first debuted last year, though no word has come out yet if will include DLC or other added content.

For those of you who aren’t aware of what Divinity: Original Sin 2 is about, here’s a synopsis of the game as provided by Steam:

The Divine is dead. The Void approaches. And the powers lying dormant within you are soon to awaken. The battle for Divinity has begun. Choose wisely and trust sparingly; darkness lurks within every heart.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is available now on PC, and the upcoming Definitive Edition will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in August 2018.

Pokdepinion: Well, if it’s free, no one’s gonna complain. What I want to know is that if we can expect some extra content for this. That will certainly make this feel even more worth taking note of.
