CEO Of HUAWEI Claims HarmonyOS Can Compete With iOS In 2 Years
Now everyone knows about the whole US and China ban, where HUAWEI no longer allowed to do business with Google. Despite the ordeal, it seems that they believe that they can match up to Appleβs iOS.
Since the company can no longer run their Android-based OS, HUAWEI has been working on their very own HarmonyOS. At the moment, thereβs only one device thatβs running the OS, their sister companyβs HONOR Vision TV that was launched in China.
Currently it doesnβt seem that HarmonyOS is ready to be launched on smartphones but in a recent interview, HUAWEIβs CEO, Ren Zhengfei has claimed that their in-house operating system will be able to compete with rivals such as Appleβs iOS within the period of 2 years.
I think it will take less than two to three years. Since Iβm part of the companyβs leadership, I need to be a bit more conservative when discussing timelines. Otherwise, I may end up putting too much pressure on our stuff.

He was then asked about the future of HUAWEI and Google. He then answered by saying that they still hope that they can use Googleβs operating system and mentions that they are committed to a friendly cooperation with Google. Additionally he says that they are a bit on the downside when it comes to βbig software architectureβ.
Pokdepinion: Now those are some bold claims from the CEO. Whether it will come true or not, well we will have to wait to see it for ourselves..
