Makers of Astro’s Playroom, Team Asobi, is soon launching a sequel titled Astro Bot – and you can have an accompanying PS5 DualSense controller to match. The limited-edition DualSense controller will be available in retailers starting September 6th, 2024, the same day Astro Bot launches globally on PS5 exclusively.
DualSense With A Robot Mix
The Astro Bot Limited Edition controller comes with the same look you’ll find from the game: white color with metallic blue accents, plus a pair of eyes on the trackpad. The lower part of the controller also features lining that resembles, well, robots; finally, the D-Pad and buttons come with light blue markings.
Keep in mind that this limited edition controller is internally the same as any other DualSenses, and the developer is more keen to give you a tour of the upcoming Astro release, based on this blog post. Like Astro’s Playroom, Astro Bot makes full use of the controller’s haptic system to mimic physical interactions, though players are said to be able to feel more types of textures in the new game. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are also used in conjunction to reflect Astro’s special abilities.
Finally, the price: the Sony DualSense Wireless Controller – Astro Bot Limited Edition will be sold for RM399 when it launches in Malaysia on September 6th, 2024. Preorders will be opened starting August 9th, 2024.
Pokdepinion: I suppose the special design is worth the price bump? It’s a limited-edition model after all.
