There has been an official announcement on the Fall Guys Twitter page, where the game has reached the 50 million player milestone just two weeks after going free-to-play.
For those of you who aren’t aware, Fall Guys officially went free-to-play on 20th June 2022, and they compensated those who purchased the game with in-game goodies such as the Assassin’s Creed outfit and free Battle Pass. They also launched the game on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles so more people can enjoy the game.
PC gamers who purchased it on Steam can still play it from there but for everyone else, they will need to download and launch the game via Epic Games Store since Epic Games bought over the developer, Mediatonic, last year. Making it free-to-play it’s certainly a great move as it allows more people to try out the game, and those willing to spend can purchase premium cosmetics via microtransactions.
The best part here is that these microtransactions will have no affect in the gameplay as they are purely for visual purpose and nothing more. Therefore, you can enjoy the game to its fullest even without spending a single cent. Should you want a pool of cosmetics and willing to put in the time, the Battle Pass would be your best bet.
Pokdepinion: I have fond memories of this game and I see the move as a big win. I don’t think the money I spent purchasing the game has gone to waste either but I hope there will be plenty more new content coming our way.
