The dust has settled over at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as Honor of Kings concludes its Invitational Midseason tournament attached to the inaugural running of Esports World Cup (EWC). Chinaβs KPL Dream Team has convincingly beaten HoK Invitational S2βs winner, LGD Gaming MY, with a 3-0 score in a best-of-five series.
KPL Dream Team Clinches Victory

The road to finals from both finalists have been straightforward β on the KPLβs side, it conquered Myanmar-based Impunity with a 2-0 in quarter-finals, and Hong Kongβs AG Global has failed to mount a challenge in semi-finals as the Chinese team 3-0βd them out of contention. Similar story goes for LGD prior to finals, as it also gets a clean sweep against both Brazilian teams, Loops and Vivo Keyd Stars, in quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
However, the Malaysian roster in LGD Gaming has failed to take one game in the best-of-five against KPL Dream Team, allowing the Chinese squad to achieve a clean sweep on the entire tournament without dropping a single game. As a result, this superteam will take home $1,000,000 USD as the winner, whilst LGD is eligible for $500,000 from the $3,000,000 prize pool. KPL farm lane player Yinuo also takes the FMVP of the match with his impressive Arli performance.
In the meantime, Honor of Kings players can continue to visit the on-site booth at Riyadh, which will remain open until August 25, 2024. Fans can complete on-site events to receive prizes.
