Epson today is bringing a new home cinema projector in EH-LS9000B to Malaysian markets, as the latest new addition to its home theater product range. The company specifically positions this model as an option for βfilm enthusiasts on a budgetβ, though βon a budgetβ is certainly relative, if not used very loosely in this regard.
Epson EH-LS9000B

Like many of its models (including the Lifestudio series launched recently), the EH-LS9000B uses 3LCD projection technology to deliver 2,200 lumens of brightness and colors over single-chip DLP counterparts, and helps eliminate some of the negative effects of said design. On top of that, it comes with HDR10+ support, frame interpolation, scene-based gamma adjustment, automatic contrast control and automatic brightness adjustment, to name a few, with image processing courtesy of its in-house ZX processor.
The projector features a motorized lens system with horizontal and vertical shift, with 10 lens memory presets for storing zoom, focus, and positioning settings a la onboard memory on gaming mice and keyboards. For automation features, it supports IP-based control protocols including Control4, Crestron, and PJLink for smart home integration.
The EH-LS9000B uses a solid-state laser light source rated for up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation and reaches full brightness in approximately eight seconds β a big jump from the predecessorβs (EH-TW9400) 30-second warmup, Epson notes. One of these is priced at RM16,799, now available through selected Epson authorized dealers in Malaysia.
Pokdepinion: I wouldnβt necessarily call a RM16k projector βbudgetβ, but everything is relative I suppose.
