Samsung today announced the launch of the Galaxy A07 5G as the latest budget entrant under its Galaxy A Series lineup, replacing the outgoing Galaxy A06 5G launched almost a year ago. This new model brings hardware upgrades in battery capacity, refresh rate, and design, with other specs mostly carried over as-is.

So letβs go through the changes. The Galaxy A07 5G is now equipped with a 6,000mAh battery β larger than A06 5Gβs 5,000mAh cell β paired with a 6.7-inch teardrop-notch HD+ LCD display that now supports 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade over the predecessorβs 90Hz (with a small caveat that activating multi-window mode will restrict it to 60Hz). Samsung also noted that this display can hit 800 nits of brightness under high brightness mode, or 650 nits without HBM.
The chassis also saw a change in material, going from the ribbed βglasticβ back panel with individual camera bumps, to glass fiber reinforced polymer back panel with a singular camera bump house two lenses. As a result, it saw a minor increase in weight to 199 grams, though the size is virtually unchanged. Software-wise, the Galaxy A07 5G now comes with Android 16 by default, and gets even 6 generations of both Android OS upgrades and security updates, two years longer than what was offered in the predecessor.
The following specs are identical: a 6nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 50MP main camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor, plus an 8MP front camera, IP54-rated dust and water resistance, 25W fast charging support, headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 support.
In Malaysia, the Samsung Galaxy A07 5G is now available in Light Green, Light Violet, and Light Black colors; the 8GB+256GB storage variant is priced at RM949, while the 6GB+128GB storage variant is priced at RM699.
Pokdepinion: Thatβs pricier than I imagined, but I suppose the reason why Chinese counterparts can offer models for cheaper is likely due to ads.
