The Lenovo Legion gaming phone might just be the ugliest smartphone of all time

The Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone is expected to be introduced sometime this year. The following images pulled from China’s CNIPA patent website by Pricebaba pretty much confirm it and also seem to reveal Lenovo’s overtly aggressive gaming design language that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. It definitely isn’t mine.

You can clearly see the Lenovo Legion’s “Y” emblem that sits smack dab in the center of the device.  The emblem is also backlit, apparently. It should have RGB illumination, although the images only show it glowing in red. There also seems to be a fan of sorts in the lower right side of the device, along with a triple camera setup along the centerline of the device. The design looks very tacky, and hopefully it is a special edition instead of the standard offering.

Aside from the weird design, the Lenovo Legion definitely takes a few pages out of the gaming smartphones in the market. For starters, it has USB-C port on its side, similar to the ROG Phones‘, as well as shoulder buttons, which might be of the physical variety like the Black Shark 3 Pro. Last but not least there’s expected to be a 144 Hz display along with a huge 5050 mAh and at least 55W fast charging. There should also be a Snapdragon 865 and 5G support, which is exactly what you would expect from a 2020 gaming smartphone.

Do you dig the design? I definitely don’t.

Pokdepinion: Man give me an all-black version and I would pick that over this design gladly.
