For iPhone users that have updated to iOS 15.4, you may be suffering from a battery drain issue compared to before. A good number of users on Twitter have shared their own experiences with the battery drain issue, which ranges from mild to rather extreme. This isnβt the first time Apple is facing this issue as it usually happens during major iOS updates, also rarely for mid-year updates.
It might not be necessary to wait for a new update or notify Apple necessarily. Usually when there is a new update, iOS will continue to optimize itself for a few days like removing junk files and optimizing battery. It will usually get better when itβs done with that process so hopefully, it will fix itself.
For those of you who arenβt aware, iOS 15.4 brings a host of new features, such as Face ID with mask on (since COVID-19 is still prevalent), and Universal Control, where you can control multiple Apple devices with a single keyboard / mouse.
If after a week, your battery drain issues still persist, that will be a good time to give Apple customer service a call. There might be some other underlying issues causing it.
Pokdepinion: Mine isnβt particularly bad but since Iβm a relatively light user, that might be why. I suspect it affects more of those who are practically on their iPhone constantly.
