Laptop sleeves are exactly what you think it is: a simple fabric-made pocket that you put your laptop in to avoid scratches and nasty bumps. Perhaps its functionality is too simple that we assume Razer said β€œhold my beer,” because the Razer Laptop Sleeve 16 with Wireless Charging for Devices has a wireless charging trick up its sleeve (pun definitely intended).

Razer’s idea for this 16-inch sleeve is for users who move between workspaces often, but don’t want to carry separate charging hardware that often incurs weight penalties. Hidden within the cover flap are two MagSafe-compatible wireless charging zones that connect to an external power source (i.e. your laptop) via the included USB-C cable, which allows you to charge both smartphones (up to 15W) and small gadgets like earbuds or smartwatches (up to 5W) simultaneously. That being said, it’s not water-resistant, so be sure to keep it away from rainy weather.

The same magnets used for wireless charging alignment also have double duties in enclosing the sleeve; its interior features padded microfiber lining with reinforced edges to reduce impact from bumps and surface scratches, while the exterior is constructed from woven polyester designed to withstand daily wear and tear. This is also applicable to the standard version of the Laptop Sleeve 16, which comes without wireless charging features and functions just like a regular laptop sleeve.

Unfortunately, Razer says the Laptop Sleeve 16 with Wireless Charging for Devices is currently unavailable in Malaysia. For the one without wireless charging functions, it will be available soon with a price of RM359.

Pokdepinion: It feels like the lack of water resistance for its USB-C port is potentially an oversight.
