The ROG Mjolnir Portable Power Station Is ASUSβs Latest April Foolβs Joke (But Itβs Real)
Remember when ASUS unveiled the ROG Ally on April Foolβs Day last year, and it took everyone a few days to figure out that it was a real thing? The company is back at it again β this time by introducing the appropriately designed ROG Mjolnir portable power station that looks exactly like Thorβs hammer.
Unlike the ROG Thor which powers your PC, the ROG Mjolnir is designed to power everything (although PC technically counts, too). From the image posted by ROGβs X (Twitter), the portable power station is seen featuring four AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports. Thereβs also a digital display above that displays the total power output and the battery runtime.
Ports aside, the most eye-catching part of this supersized battery pack is the βhandleβ β itβs unlikely to be an actual handle given the weight of the batteries, though. Assuming this is not a purely cosmetic part, one can assume this acts as a detachable flashlight that docks onto the main unit for the looks. Having it detachable also greatly helps with storage β you donβt want that thing to stick out brazenly inside your carβs boot when youβre packing lots of stuff.
While ASUS hasnβt specified any details on the specifications like battery capacity, we should be able to learn more soon as the company is bringing their latest April Foolβs creation to the upcoming Computex 2024, which will be held in early June this year.
Pokdepinion: Perhaps someone out there may try to lift this Thorβs hammer β come to think about it, brilliant name, ASUS.Β
