Introducing Fighting EX Layer
Over the past few months,Β Street Fighter EXΒ series developer Arika showcased its upcoming fighting game, which did not have a name, until now.
The game is now officially namedΒ Fighting EX Layer, and itβs coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018, with a beta starting on November 11th 2017.
Interestingly, we get another reveal today. Hokuto is getting her rather evil-lookingΒ βShiraseβ appearance, revealed with a brand new trailer. It has been announced that the game will also be playable at PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, California. If you happen to be in that area, youβll be able to get a close look on your own.
For those of you who arenβt aware, the Street Fighter EX series were the earliest that weβve seen the Street Fighter games jumped to 3D. Sure, the game still takes place like a typical 2D fighting game that was common at the time, but youβre not stuck with the usual 2D sprites anymore. This was rather interesting as it gave us an idea as to what to expect from the Street Fighter series, or even fighting games alone, in the future.
You can check out the trailer at the top of this post. Fighting EX Layer certainly looks like a game to watch, and now that we know what itβs called, itβll probably be easier toΒ do so.

Pokdepinion: I recall playing Street Fighter EX on the original PlayStation and thinking to myself as to why there are many characters Iβve never heard of. Doctrine Dark, Garuda, Skullomania, and so on. Didnβt know they were Arika characters. Well, if it can be as fun and as memorable as that game, Fighting EX Layer will definitely be a game to look out for.
