Apple has released a set of software updates across all of its operating systems, sharing a common version number 26.4, which introduces new emoji, updates to creative tools and new changes to system features and apps. Here are the highlights.
Apple OS 26.4 Update
Starting off, the update includes 8 new emojis, such as an orca, trombone, landslide, ballet dancer (with different skin color selections) and a distorted face, which are now available across supported devices. Below are the images of newly-added emojis for your reference (and hereβs the full list):

Ambient Music widgets can now be added to the Home Screen or Today View, allowing users to access playlists aligned with activities such as sleep, relaxation, productivity and wellbeing without requiring an Apple Music subscription. Meanwhile, Freeform has been integrated into Apple Creator Studio β the Content Hub offers the materials for content creation, along with on-device AI enabling Super Resolution for image upscaling and Auto Crop for composition adjustments. Additional image generation capabilities are now also available courtesy of OpenAI.
Updates to the Health app now include a new Sleep Highlight feature that compares a userβs most recent bedtime with their average over the previous two weeks. For macOS users, the new version 26.4 update will also notify users when they open Intel-based apps, extensions or plug-ins on Apple silicon devices, indicating that support for legacy Intel-based versions will be phased out, and recommend switching to native versions. Apple is expected to maintain support for Rosetta (Intel-to-Apple code compatibility layer) until macOS 27 due next year.
Moving on, the Apple TV app introduces a feature called Genius Browse, which enables users to discover related shows and movies based on selected content or curated collections. Lastly, Stolen Device Protection is now enabled by default on new devices, and will be retroactively enabled on existing devices as well β those who explicitly enabled then disabled the feature prior to this update will not see this change, however (watch and learn, Microsoft).
Pokdepinion: All pretty minor changes.
