Not Just For Influencers Anymore! Instagram Finally Let’s Everyone Post Links On Their Stories

Instagram has just announced that they will be extending the ability to share links to Instagram Stories with everyone. Previously, the ability to share links to their stories were only available to profiles that have at least 10,00 followers. Well not anymore.

Sharing links on Stories isn’t exactly the same as the ones before in that instead of a ‘swipe up’ feature, the links are shared in the form of stickers, similar to how music is shared. Check out below on how to add links to your Stories.

How to share links to your Instagram Stories

1. Capture or upload content to your story as you would normally do
2. Select the sticker tool from the top navigation bar
3. Tap the “Link” sticker to add your desired link and tap “Done”
4. Place the sticker on your story just like any other sticker and tap on the sticker to see colour variations
5. Once you have added the sticker, you can share your Story

Instagram says that they will be implementing ways to customise the link in the future so that it’ll be easier for other people to see the link that you are sharing. The social platform also stated that accounts and profiles that are known to spread misinformation, hate speech or anything else that violates their community guidelines will not have access to the feature.
