eBelia eWallet Credit Sees Increment In Latest Announcement
You might recall that the government had introduced the eBelia programme, where eWallet credit was given to youths. Now it seems that theyβve decided to up the benefits for eligible citizens to utilize.
eBelia eWallet credit now increased
The new announcement sees the credit given increased from RM100 to RM150. With the programme, it is catered for 2 million Malaysian citizens who are aged between 18 and 20, as well as full-time students.
Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has said that βWe believe this programme will spur businesses, especially micro enterprises and small medium enterprises to start accepting cashless payments for purchases of their goodsβ.
It is reported that around 60% of the governmentβs collection last year was done through online transactions where 2020 saw 113% increased, totaling to 600 million transactions.
