Kingston Ironkey Vault Privacy 50C Is Company’s First Hardware-Encrypted USB-C Drive

This hardened USB drive can fend off BadUSB and brute-force attacks, says the company.

In this year’s CES event, Kingston has brought their first-ever USB-C drive that comes with hardware encryption features: the Ironkey Vault Privacy 50C (IKVP50C). This AES-256 protected drive includes multi-password option with Complex or Passphrase modes which allow users to choose any combination of PIN, sentence with space characters, or a list of words which makes it easy to remember for the user but hard to guess for others.

Kingston also offers other hardware-encrypted storage solutions which includes the aforementioned VP50 series, FIPS 140-3 certified (pending) KP200 USB drive with built-in hardware keypad, or the VP80ES, company’s first OS-agnostic external SSD with touch panel built in.

The memory chipmaker continues its collaboration with Intel, showcasing its latest FURY memory kits and storage drives on Intel’s NUC systems.
