GIGABYTE has introduced the X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP motherboard which it says is βpurpose-builtβ for AMD Ryzen X3D processors. In particular, the X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 feature functions as a βdynamic AI overclocking model trained on big dataβ to generate optimization profiles for each individual chip.
GIGABYTE X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP

Head to the motherboardβs product page full of marketing buzzwords (βAIβ was mentioned 66 times) and youβll see how X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 works. GIGABYTE says thereβs a βdedicated hardware blockβ for real-time performance tuning, while the AI model trained on Ryzen X3D processors is involved in fine-tuning the core frequency, power, and thermal behavior. The company claims up to 25% faster performance in gaming and 14% in multi-tasking productivity, though it seems to suggest that youβll need to switch between two modes β Extreme Gaming Mode and Max Performance Mode β depending on your workload.

X3D optimizations aside, the AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP utilizes a 24+2+2 stage (110A) VRM configuration for power delivery, which is more than well enough to feed AMD Ryzen X3Dβs power demands. Thereβs also plenty of exotic cooling designs like the βCPU Thermal Matrixβ mounting frame, active RAM cooling, spring-loaded M.2 base plate, giant VRM and SSDs heatsinks, and even holes throughout the I/O shield to maximize airflow. The motherboard maker also boasts its highly AI-assisted PCB design process, which is where most of the βAIβ mentions came from when we mentioned the tally just now.
For RAM overclocking, GIGABYTE has this featured oddly named βD5 Bionic Corsaβ that uses AI to simplify DDR5 overclocking, claiming speeds above 9000MT/s. The 64MB SPI ROM onboard also provides enough room to fit the necessary Wi-Fi drivers for Windows 11 setup, and as a flagship motherboard, itβs got all the tool-less designs, expansion options and connectivity youβd expect out of them. Thereβs also βfun surprisesβ in the packaging, though GIGABYTE naturally wouldnβt say what β so youβll have to buy one (or see a reviewer/creator unbox one) when it becomes available to find out.
Pokdepinion: Thereβs barely any visible PCB left with all the heatsinks and structures covering both sides of the motherboard β thatβs how you know itβs a super high-end model.
