NVIDIA Transforms Vietnam’s iCafe Scene With RTX GPUs And Esports Initiatives
NVIDIA injects a new life into Vietnam’s iCafe market with its latest RTX 40 SUPER series products and a range of engaging esports initiatives, as the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the country’s cyber cafe market in the past few years. “These initiatives not only mark a significant upgrade in gaming technology but also reignite the passion of the gaming community post-pandemic,” the company wrote in a press release.
Vietnam’s iCafe market has experienced a remarkable revival post-COVID-19 restrictions, with approximately 14,000 operational iCafes totaling around 280,000 PCs. The country currently has 650 active GeForce-certified iCafes – with 200 new certifications annually. The resurgence is further fueled by the company’s iCafe Discovery Program, introducing the RTX 40 series upgrades to iCafe business owners to facilitate the modernization of PC hardware.
The Hanoi GeForce Fans Party, attended by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, successfully brought together over 400 on-site attendees and gathered more than 1 million online views. The event showcased the latest GeForce technologies, offering gamers an interactive platform for Counter-Strike 2 matches against Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) who engaged with Vietnam’s gaming community.
The NVIDIA Reflex iCafe Attack CS2 tournament, which culminated on January 28, 2024, boasted a prize pool of 120 million VND (~RM23,236), touted to be the largest in a domestic CS2 event. With over 70 iCafes across 12 cities participating and 500 gamers competing, the tournament was decided on the finals at Ho Chi Minh City.
As part of the certification process, iCafes are provided with RTX 40 series GPUs to upgrade their systems. Located in Binh Thanh District of the country’s capital, Project X-23 – the first iCafe to upgrade to GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER PCs, is planned to expand further with more systems set to be equipped with RTX 4070 Ti SUPER CPUs in the opening of its latest outlet located at the capital’s District 7.
