There’s a new special edition GPU in town, and it is the result of the collaboration between MSI and Blizzard Entertainment. In line with World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary, MSI is introducing the new GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12G GAMING SLIM World of Warcraft Edition.
MSI Celebrates WoW’s 20th Anniversary
Underneath its Mystic Blue and Glorious Gold-colored shroud sits the standard NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER silicon, which comes with the same factory overclock as the vanilla GAMING SLIM variant of the GPU. All specs are identical (meaning you still get GDDR6X memory), though the WoW Edition will feature a special packaging containing various custom backplates, each depicting a different expansion story – though you’ll sacrifice the flow-through airflow for aesthetics.
Included in the package is also a specially-designed GPU anti-sag bracket with game-inspired aesthetics, and power is connected via 12V-2×6, meaning you’ll need to use the breakout adapter for dual PCIe 8-pin if you don’t have compatible PSUs.
In its press release, MSI also teases a special campaign that “invites gamers to participate on a journey for this occasion,” and signs so far are pointing to a giveaway campaign based on the company’s social media channels.
