ASUS ProArt Displays Gets Firmware and Software Updates For Native MacOS Support

ASUS DisplayWidget Center is now available on macOS, and Mac users can adjust monitor settings such as brightness, contrast, and color temperature through a desktop interface, as well as brightness control keys on Mac keyboards. Besides that, A new β€œM Model P3” color setting allows ProArt displays to match Apple’s Display P3 color standard found on MacBooks, which is a slightly different version of DCI-P3 gamut used on everywhere else.

If you have one of the more recent models, ASUS DisplayWidget Center should run directly on these monitors right away once the software is installed. For older models, they’ll need a firmware update before they’re Mac-ready, and the models include: PA16USV, PA24ACRV, PA248CRV, PA248QFV, PA27ACRV, PA27JCV,Β PA27UCGE, PA278CFRV, PA278QGV, PA279CRV, PA32KCX, PA32QCV, PA32UCDM, PA32UCE.

For M Model P3 color support, same logic applies. Most new models should have this at the ready, but some – including PA279CRV and PA27JCV – will need firmware updates installed to enable this mode. Note that the firmware update process is similar to desktop motherboards, meaning you need a USB drive and the relevant file to get started. Here’s the support article on how to update firmware on ProArt monitors in case you need it.
