The king of gaming CPUs is going to have a new owner, as sightings of the yet-to-be-announced AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D has been spotted in two separate occasions, suggesting that a retail launch could happen pretty soon. First leaked two months ago, the new processor is essentially a binned version of Ryzen 7 9800X3D with higher clock speeds.
AMD To Launch Ryzen 7 9850X3D Soon?

As seen on the screenshots above, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D was spotted on two online retailers, one in Switzerland and one in United States. While both listings have pricing shown, it should be taken with a grain of salt, given that pricing is often not final until the launch day; that being said, both listings suggest around 15-20% more expensive price tag when compared to the 9800X3D, which retailed at $479 (~RM1,953) at launch.
To recap, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will feature 8 Zen 5-based cores in a single core complex die (CCD), featuring stacked 3D V-Cache layer that forms 96MB of L3 cache. This allowed the processor to achieve excellent performance on memory-sensitive games, in particular boosting the 1% lows framerate which is the main cause of stuttering. In the case of 9800X3D, that processor was clocked at 5.2GHz; the 9850X3D raises the clock speed to 5.6GHz instead, making a +400MHz increase. Power budget remains at 120W TDP, however.
Given the timing of this appearance, it is possible that this chip may make its debut on CES 2026, and weβll find out in around three weeksβ time to see if this is truly the case.
