Thereβs no shortage of innovations in PC cases lately, and this one is pretty unique β the NextGear EG series is a conventional PC case on the outside, but itβs got a special trick that instantly turns the glass from transparent to opaque by pressing a button.
NEXTGEAR EG Series Has A Party Trick

The caseβs glass panel can be switched into a frosted glass look when βStealth modeβ is activated, and βClear modeβ does what it says on the tin. Users can only switch between the modes when PC is powered on, but the mode will persist even when powered off. For example, when the case is operating on Stealth mode, turning off the PC will keep its internals hidden.
The tech behind this isnβt exactly new, but itβs pretty uncommon in the world of PC building. Itβs called electrochromic glass, which doesnβt look all that different from a regular glass, but its transparency properties can be altered via voltage. If you remember, OnePlus actually tried out this tech back in 2020 with its Concept One smartphone that puts the cameras behind this glass, which turns opaque as needed to completely hide the cameras. Some cars also have this in their panoramic roofs to help block sunlight.
Now, if you want one, you probably canβt unless you live in Japan, which is the only market this case β or rather, this entire prebuilt PC β is sold. The NEXTGEAR EG series isavailable through Mouse Computer retail store, and so far you canβt buy the case standalone; instead, it gets paired with an assortment of components ranging from AMD Ryzen 5 4500 to Ryzen 7 7700, along with a choice of mid-range NVIDIA or AMD GPUs.
Pokdepinion: Itβs not really a big selling point but I guess it will fit a specific niche.
