Sonova is Buying Over Sennheiser Consumer Audio Business
As many of you may know by now, Sennheiser is selling off their consumer audio business. Now, it appears that they have found a customer willing to acquire it as Sonova is looking to finalize the deal.
Sonova is Buying Over Sennheiser Consumer Audio Business
Switzerland-based company Sonova will be acquiring Sennheiser for roughly β¬200 million (RM1 billion). To be precise, itβs only their consumer audio business, which they have been looking to sell off since mid-February 2021.
For those of you who arenβt aware, Sonova is best known for medical audio products including hearing aids and cochlear implants. Itβs one of the worldβs largest providers in this niche, with revenues of about 2.917 billion CHf (RM13.3 billion) just last year.
A partner who not only shares our passion for audio and a commitment to the highest product quality, but also very similar corporate values. This is an excellent foundation for a successful future together.

Sonova mentioned that they will continue to sell products under the Sennheiser brand while also combining their βaudiological expertiseβ to the consumer products. This most likely means they will be looking to innovate and launch new consumer audio products including headphones, TWS earbuds, soundbars, and more.
There is no word on when we can expect new products from the brand, especially since the sale hasnβt been finalized yet. Itβs expected to close sometime in the second half of 2021.
Pokdepinion: Iβm glad that the Sennheiser consumer audio product will continue to live on. Iβm personally a fan of them and I was surprised to learn that the company is selling off that part of the business. Hopefully, weβll see better products in the near future.
