The Next Revolutionary Apple Product to be Powered by NVIDIA?
NVIDIA is currently looking for someone to help create the next big thing in Appleβs product line-up.
If youβre not used to seeing NVIDIA and Apple on the same side, I wouldnβt blame you. For the current generation Mac PCs, itβs powered by the AMD Radeon graphics, and this isnβt the first time Apple has been utilizing Radeon graphics. It has also been awhile since weβve seen an NVIDIA-powered Mac.
However, it looks like a major change is coming for Appleβs product line-up, and it looks to be very promising.
NVIDIAΒ Working on Next Gen Apple Products?

According to the folks over at Tweaktown, NVIDIA has posted a job advertisement in order to look for a software engineer that is willing to work with Apple Computers. Specifically, theyβre seeking for an individual who willΒ βhelp produce the next revolutionary Apple productsβ, and it will require said individual to be working in partnership with Apple as well as writing code that will βdefine and shape the future of graphics-related software on Mac.β
To make things even more interesting, this isnβt just a single job ad post, as there are at least 3 of them, with the latest job adΒ posted as recently as last week. One of those job ads mention that the selected individual will be working with the NVIDIA Mac Graphics Driver team.
Apple has been known to create products of high standards, and it appears that they believe NVIDIA will be the best option to go for their future Mac PCs. Some are speculating that Appleβs relationship with AMD has soured but thatβs not necessarily the case, or even proven to begin with.
Pokdepinion: We might just see Macs with some Volta or Pascal flavoring in it. I donβt see it as a clear sign that NVIDIA is leaps and bounds better than AMD, but itβs true that they haveΒ been refining their GPU architecture very well, and itβs something weβd love to see somewhere down the road. Β Iβm sure the ones powered by Intelβs built-in graphics will still maintain, while the NVIDIA-powered ones will be specifically catered for those looking for a beefier Mac. What would be weird is to see themΒ powering iPhones, especially if itβs a TEGRA chipset.
