Google Ignite Career Fair Returns for 2017 β 1,400 students compete for Google Partnersβ internship opportunities
Google Ignite aims to igniteΒ the future of young Malaysians
Last weekend saw the return of theΒ Google Ignite Career Fair with theΒ Google Ignite Career Fair 2017 being the third time Google has organised the fair in collaboration withΒ The Malaysian Advertising Association (MAA) andΒ Jobstreet.com. TheΒ Google Ignite Career FairΒ is an exclusive event by Google, only for Google-certified students and top employers from the program to interact and network, and to facilitate applications and conversations regarding internship opportunities within the Google Ignite programme.

There will be a few activities for participants during the Google Ignite Career Fair which include talks and interview sessions. Most notably speed interviews as well as 1-on-1 career mentoring sessions.


What is Google Ignite?Β GoogleΒ IgniteΒ isΒ aΒ training-to-internshipΒ programme targetedΒ toΒ studentsΒ whoΒ willΒ laterΒ on
beΒ likelyΒ toΒ pursueΒ aΒ careerΒ inΒ digitalΒ marketing. The programme trains applicants to be proficient in Google AdWords (whichΒ isΒ GoogleβsΒ main onlineΒ advertisingΒ platform) by providing them with online resources for learning as well as training through their participating universities. Google Ignite modules includeΒ Fundamentals of Search (Basic Search), Advanced (Advanced Search) and Advanced Display (Detail View), with those passing the Fundamentals of Search exam as well as one of the other two modules will receive Google AdWords certification.

This yearβs Google Ignite Career Fair saw 1,400 students from a variety of different universities in Malaysia compete against each other for a chance to snag one out of 300 coveted internship opportunities from 64 different companies. All 64 companies are of course comprised of top Google Partner agencies, companies as well as leading digital brands in Malaysia.
ForΒ Google Ignite Career Fair 2017, Google Malaysia has officially worked with students from 11 different Malaysian universities which include:
