Apex Legends Adding Duos Mode for A Limited Time Only
Apex Legends Adding Duos Mode for A Limited Time Only
Previously, Respawn Entertainment had Solos as a limited-time event in Apex Legends. Given how well-received it was, theyβre now giving another highly-demanded mode, Duos Mode, a try as well starting 5th November 2019.
Unlike other battle royales, Apex Legends uses characters who each come with their own special powers. This makes balancing around modes like Solos and Duos a little more difficult than it is in something like PUBG or Fortnite. Theyβre doing what they can to keep the game balanced even when itβs moving into a mode that the game wasnβt designed around.
By keeping the modes limited time, it keeps them feeling special. Sure, it sucks for anyone who view Solos as the best way to play, but I would guess that most players are sticking to the 3-person teams the game was designed around. Having a wackier mode is fun for the short term, but it might split the player base and hurt the game overall if it was made permanent.
The Halloween-themed Shadowfall mode was well-received. Especially how creative it was on the whole βzombiesβ concept, many have enjoyed the twist in gameplay that made it a surprisingly refreshing experience. Letβs see if Duos Mode in Apex Legends will be able to do the same.
Apex Legends is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin for free. Itβs expected to appear on Steam soon.
Pokdepinion: Personally, Iβm still hoping for a 4-man game of Apex, though Iβm aware this can greatly shift the game balance. Iβm still gonna go give Duos a try at least.
