1st Gameplay for Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition Revealed

Back at Gamescom in Germany, Square Enix surprised many by announcingΒ Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, a mobile version of its successful J-RPGΒ Final Fantasy XV.

Gameplay footage for Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition has surfaced, and it looks promising for a mobile port of such a visually-pleasing game.

The game is rendered in a rather adorable chibi style, with the full main story of the original game included. The biggest difference is that it’s a bit more linear due to its episodic nature. The first episode will be free, and then there are going to be nine more episodes that you’ll have to pay for.

If you missed out on the announcement trailer, you can check it out just above here. Fair warning, it looks super adorable.

On the console front, Square Enix is keeping up with the updatesΒ Final Fantasy XVΒ for both PS4 and Xbox One. AlongsideΒ theΒ Assassin’s FestivalΒ crossover event,Β theyΒ recently released patch 1.15, while the story DLCΒ Episode IgnisΒ is scheduled for release in December.

Final Fantasy XVΒ is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will release this fall for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices. AΒ Windows EditionΒ will then follow on PC via Steam in early 2018.

Pokdepinion: I’ve had mixed feelings with Final Fantasy XV. I mean, it was enjoyable…up to a certain point. After that, it was just all downhill. Perhaps a mobile version might save the game.
