Diablo 4 Will Require You To Be Online To Play, All The Time
Our inner kid (okay, maybe only me) jumped out of excitement when Blizzard confirmed and released their official game trailer for Diablo 4. Now it seems that they have said that the game will not be available to play in offline mode.
The news was revealed by Angela Del Priore, the lead designer of Diablo 4, where she was asked at BlizzCon 2019 on whether the game could be played solo as well as in offline.
She denied the idea where she said βWe are not going to support an offline modeβ. Despite that, you donβt need to worry about finding friends around to make a party where she adds βBut as I said before, nothing in Diablo 4 is going to require partying up. You can play solo and dungeons are private. Campaign quest areas will remain privateβ.
Itβs not surprising seeing their decision as it gives control over game updates and prevent people from hacking and using bugs to gain an advantage from the previous Diablo titles.
Diablo 4 will be coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One where it is now under development. A release date is yet to be announced.
Pokdepinion: Iβm not bummed out by the fact that youβll need to be online to be able to play the game, thatβs the case of most games nowadays anyway. I like the fact that theyβre returning to the βdarkβ theme again this time around. Canβt wait to play it.
