Bandai Namco Says No To Epic Games Store Exclusivity
The Epic Games Store has been available for quite some time now, where ever since they came out, a number of developers signed deals with the store in offering exclusive game releases. The move has since been getting negative reaction from gamers all around. Now it seems that Bandai Namco is sharing the same thoughts.
According to a report, the company has said that they donβt have any plans on releasing any of their games as an exclusive at the Epic Games Store. Hereβs what they have to say:[blockquote]We cannot do everything and Japanese (companies) are not risk averse but weβre going slowly. So we have a full platform strategy. The main focus for us is the consumer and the brand. And for each brand we decide whatβs the best way to satisfy the consumer and to engage the widest audience possible. So for instance, I donβt see any point of putting Tekken 7 on Epic Store. Epic is just another store. Itβs fantastic, they have a lot of strength and users, the business model is attractive to us because itβs more profitable but still, their interest is, if iβm correct, exclusivity. And this is not our vision. We want our content to be available for as many fans as possible.[/blockquote]
Previously we covered on One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, which is developed by Bandai Namco. You can read more on the game here.
Pokdepinion: Good news for gamers I guess. Donβt get this wrong, theyβll still be Bandai games on the Epic Games Store, but they wonβt be making them exclusively available on the platform, thatβs all.
