Celcom Showcase Malaysiaβs First 5G Live Cluster Field Trial
Looking to accelerate 5G implementation here in Malaysia, Celcom today deployed the countryβs first ever 5G Live Cluster Field Trial where they showcased right in front of us on the technologyβs potential and uses.
At their Live Cluster Field Trial, theyβve previewed on how 5Gβs ability to support Smarty City applications and to explore new vertical industries. The test resulted with user throughputs up to 6Gbps at their office, and will be further optimized during the live field trials within areas such as Seksyen 14, Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Tower, and Taman Jaya LRT Station.
Celcom will be deploying a network that features Massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO 64T64R), using C-band and milimetreWave technology that allows ultra-fast 5G experience with Gigabyte throughput and lower latency.
As you might know, Celcom and HUAWEI signed a partnership previously and today, the telco company utilized the HUAWEI Mate 20 X 5G to properly carry out the test.
Aside from the speed and latency tests, theyβve also showcased on 5G surveillance technology, where their truck is fitted with a 360-degree camera thatβs able to maintain UHD video quality, allowing for detailed video surveillance.
Aside from the tests, Celcom has revealed that they will be delivering a Live 5G test bed. This will allow 3rd parties to incubate and test new 5G applications and use cases.
Pokdepinion: Thought itβs still in trial, exciting times are indeed ahead of us. Not to sure about for the people in Sabah and Sarawak though..
