Canon nurtures young photographers on National Camera Day
Canon treated children from three orphanage homes to a hands-on photography experience last National Camera Day, which falls on 29th June every year. The 38 children were each provided with a unit of Canon EOS mirrorless cameras to put their photography skills to the test.
They were first taught the fundamentals of photography by the Canon EOS Youth Ambassadors beforehand. They were then given the opportunity to go around KL Performing Arts Center (KLPAC) and capture scenic or portrait-themed photos. The teams with the top 3 most creative and inspiring photos took home prizes.
The participants praised the Canon mirrorless camerasβ ease of use:
βI wasnβt sure how to use the camera at first, but the βAbangβ taught us how to use them. He took a few shots and showed us how a good photo looks like. Todayβs programme is fun, I
wish it could be longer!β said Imran, one of the participants. When asked about his winning shot, he said βI am happy that I manage to get a good photo of my friends, especially when they are laughing. I know itβs a good photo and it took me only 2 clicks!β
Canon believes that the love of photography should be embraced by everyone, and also wants to make photo taking and storytelling easier for anyone armed with a Canon camera.
Pokdepinion: Thatβs pretty sweet of Canon!
