Earlier this year, we saw Telltale Games announcing that they plan to close up shop. This resulted in many of their projects to come to a grinding halt. Any hopes for a sequel to The Wolf Among Us and other games were killed off immediately, but many expected The Walking Dead Final Season to at least finish up.
Later, Skybound Entertainment announced plans to finish work on Telltaleβs The Walking Dead Final Season to see Clementineβs journey through to end. They will also be doing so with the original developers to ensure a more consistent experience with theΒ previously released two episodes.
Skybound Entertainment has since offeredΒ an updateΒ on their official website that announces the resuming of development for the final episodes of the game. The news comes after recent sightings ofΒ old Telltale games disappearing from SteamΒ and other platforms as a result of reportedΒ asset liquidation.
Itβs been a ton of work logistically and legally to get us to a place where weβre able to roll up our sleeves and get to the actual work. [β¦] Weβre excited to let you know that many of the talented, passionate team members who originally worked on the game are resuming development efforts today!
According to the company, the release dates of both episodes will be revealed shortly and they assure that those who have already purchased the entire season prior to the studioβs closure will not have to buy the episodes again.
