Want to have something to look forward to? SEGA has gone full tease mode and just opened a brand new countdown website and it is counting down to something major. What could it be?

If you have been searching for something to look forward to recently especially within the realm of gaming, here’s something just for you. SEGA has just opened a newΒ countdown site, presumably teasing a new game.

The site showcases a fantasy-looking environment with floating islands, a throne, and a giant clock. The count down will end at 3PM Japan time onΒ January 19th, which is equivalent to 2PM for those living in Malaysia, Singapore, and the GMT +8 timezone.

Interestingly, the URL of the website includes the word β€œsenki” which means β€œwar chronicle” in Japanese. This may or may not be a reference to the 1991 Sega Genesis strategy RPGΒ Bahamut Senki, whichΒ was developed and published by SEGA.

No other hint is provided, aside from the message β€œSega reveals a mysterious countdown. When it reaches zero, something will happen?!”

We’ll have to be on standby and see what it’s all about. Interestingly, this is not the only tease released by SEGA over the past few days. AnotherΒ was done on Twitter last week, but this one points to tomorrow.

Another interesting possibility could be something related to the animeΒ Record of Grancrest WarΒ (Grancrest SenkiΒ in Japanese) that just started airing on January 5th, and is seen as the spiritual successor of the massively popular seriesΒ Record of Lodoss War.Β Both were born from light novels byΒ Ryo Mizuno. Of course, this is just personal speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Pokdepinion: Any news is good news and if it’s from SEGA, I’m pretty sure it will turn up to be something at least decent. Well, time to play the waiting game to see the countdown clock hit zero.
