Fortnite Login and Server Stability Issues Addressed

Epic Gamesβ battle royale game FortniteΒ has hit a few bumps recently as players began reporting issues with the game affecting connectivity when trying to log in. These recent hitches, however, have turned out to be the result of a much-needed update to prevent vulnerabilities within the game itself.
The βMeltdownβ vulnerability allow programs to steal data, including sensitive information, from the affected computer or cloud network.Β Fortnite, as it turns out, runs much of its back-end processes through a cloud serviceβ thankfully that cloud service has implemented an update to prevent this vulnerability.
Further explanation of the Meltdown vulnerability can be foundΒ here. A graph of back-end service CPU utilization can be seen just below here.

This update more than doubled the CPU usage on Epic Gamesβ cloud servers and caused players to run into trouble when attempting to log in, or even remain connected to the game.
In a recentΒ post, Epic Games has stated that these issues may persist throughout the week as sed cloud services are updated further. Players have found it particularly hard in the past few days to accrueΒ battle pass points towards this seasonβs unlockable skins.
FortniteΒ is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In case you were not aware, yes, this is the free alternative to another popular battle royale game, PlayerUnknownβs Battlegrounds, which also had some news recently on fixes. Itβs like how Paladins is to Overwatch.
Pokdepinion: Well, it was a much needed update and I have no complaints. Didnβt think the meltdown issue could be that catastrophic but either way, Iβd rather wait it out than risk a data breach.
