Toyota Eco Youth 2026 Workshop Begins, 30 Schools Selected For Sustainability Program

UMW Toyota Motor, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has commenced the Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) 2026 workshop held from March 30 to 31, followed by the program’s official opening on April 1 at Wyndham Acmar, Klang.

The initiative received 327 submissions from secondary schools across Malaysia, with 30 schools selected to proceed to the workshop and project implementation phase. Now in its 25th edition, the program is designed for students aged 13 to 16, focusing on developing environmental awareness and practical problem-solving skills.

Participants are required to identify environmental issues within their communities and implement sustainable solutions using the company’s β€œstructured problem solving methodology.” The workshop provides guidance and mentorship for students and teacher-advisors to refine project plans, establish implementation strategies, and monitor progress through real-world application.

Each shortlisted school will receive a grant of RM3,000 to support project implementation, bringing total grant funding to RM90,000, while an additional RM80,000 is allocated for prizes, resulting in a combined program allocation of RM170,000. Following project evaluations, 15 schools will advance to the final stage at the Toyota Eco Youth 2026 Convention and Exhibition scheduled from November 2 to 4, where final assessments and awards will take place.
