UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) reported sales of 4,856 units in February 2026, bringing total year-to-date sales to 9,556 units. The local distributor for the Japanese automaker credited to its strategy of starting 2026 with βmultiple refreshed and electrified offerings across key segmentsβ, contributing to its βsteady performanceβ.
UMW Toyota Motorβs 2026 So Far

UWMT started 2026 with new hybrid-powered offerings like the Vios Hybrid and Vios HEV GR Sport in the B-segment sedan category, while the Corolla Cross HEV GR Sport extends Toyotaβs hybrid know-how into the C-segment SUV space. Within the higher-end segments, the Vellfire HEV introduces hybrid power to the luxury MPV category, and the Harrier HEV strengthens the brandβs presence in the D-segment SUV segment.

The distributor also expanded its retail network with the opening of the Prima Pearl 4S Centre in Bayan Lepas, Penang on 9 February this year, integrating sales, service and body and paint operations in a single location to increase service capacity in the northern Malaysia region. The new dealership includes four display vehicles, two delivery bays, 10 general service bays and 10 body and paint bays.
UMWT continues to offer ownership support programs including Toyota Service Savers, which provides scheduled maintenance packages starting from RM31/month, while Toyota Extend offers extended warranty coverage for selected models. As part of its March promotional campaign (and in line with the Raya season), the company is offering financing packages across selected models with deals valued at up to RM7,500 and monthly instalments starting from RM658.
Pokdepinion: Suffice to say Toyota is still one of the top dogs in the hybrid game.
