ChatGPT now gains one more capability in the form of song identification courtesy of Shazam β users can now ask the chatbot to identify songs right away, no separate app required. With the integration, users can type prompts like βShazam, whatβs playing?β or βShazam, what is this song?β to activate the feature.
Shazam On ChatGPT

After connecting the app to ChatGPT, users can activate the feature by starting a prompt with the word βShazam,β and then itβll to analyze and identify music in seconds. When a song is recognized, the result is displayed in the ChatGPT conversation with the track name together with artwork and a short audio preview attached. Essentially, the process is the same as using the app.
The idea is that you donβt need to install the app to identify a song once in a long while, but if youβre a frequent song-searcher, itβs probably better to stick to the app for speedβs sake. I can speak as an Android user that the app provides you with one-tap buttons that is much faster if youβre trying to catch the tune from a quick snippet in the cafe, for example β by the time you finish typing the prompt, thereβs a good chance that snippet is forever gone from your ears.
However, if you do have the app installed in your phone, all identified songs made from ChatGPT prompts can be saved directly to their Shazam library. As of right now, the integration rollout process is ongoing, and users will be able to access the feature anywhere ChatGPT (and a microphone to pick up the sound) is supported.
Pokdepinion: I guess Shazam assumed that people will be on chatbots 24/7 to warrant this addition?
