Besides the iPhone 17e, Apple has announced the new iPad Air (2026) powered by Apple M4 chip, once again available in 11-inch and 13-inch options. The new yearly refresh doesnβt bring a whole lot aside from chipset upgrades, so you probably couldnβt tell the difference if youβre shown the 2025 model next to them.
iPad Air (M4, 2026)

The upgrades can be summed up in this paragraph: the new M4 chipset brings an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU for processing, while the unified memory is now faster and larger, with 12GB capacity and 120GB/s bandwidth on tap. Besides the main chipset upgrade, the new iPad Air lineup also features Appleβs N1 and C1X chips for connectivity duties β N1 enables support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and Thread, while C1X powers cellular-capable models (which supports 5G, GPS and eSIM) with improved speeds and power efficiency over the regular C1 chip.

As for the rest of the spec sheet, no changes has been made over the year-old models. You get the same 12MP f/2.0 Center Stage front camera, the same 12MP f/1.8 rear camera, same anti-reflective βLiquid Retinaβ IPS displays, same accessories support (including Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Magic Keyboard), same storage options (128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB), same color options (Blue, Purple, Starlight and Space Gray), and even down to the exact same chassis size.
The 11-inch iPad Air starts at RM2,799 for the Wi-Fi only model and RM3,499 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, while the 13-inch version starts at RM3,699 for Wi-Fi only and RM4,399 for Wi-Fi + Cellular. Pre-orders begin 4 March, with availability from 11 March.
Pokdepinion: A very incremental upgrade.
