vivo Malaysia is soon bringing its latest midrange entry in vivo V70 to the local market, with a new βGolden Hourβ color option to be introduced alongside Alpine Gray and Authentic Black colorways. In particular, the Golden Hour finish is designated as the βhero colorβ for the model.
vivo V70 Coming Soon
If you saw the images of the smartphone above, allow me to address the elephant in the room first. For the past few generations, vivo has made its V-series smartphones visually distinct in its hardware design; however, the new iteration might disappoint some, as the vivo V70 ended up making a near carbon copy of the looks that Apple left off for its iPhones just several months ago. I once praised the looks of the likes of V60 and V50, but this new one is uninspiring at best, despite the companyβs justifications on utilizing premium materials for its construction.
vivo did provide some numbers: for its now formulaic flat-frame and rounded-edge smartphone, the screen bezels measure 1.25 mm on the sides, 1.46 mm at the top, and 1.77 mm at the bottom; the camera bump measures 3.29 mm thick, while the display corner radius is a huge 10.4 mm, with the frame radius at 12.5 mm. βSmooth, seamless transitionsβ is the justification, vivo stated in its press release. For its chassis frame, the company says it uses 6-series aluminum which is then polished several times for the metallic look.
Putting aside the rant of smartphone carcinization, the vivo V70βs hardware is updated on some aspects, though others remain as-is from its predecessor. Of which, the battery is the same (6,500mAh), fast charging support is unchanged (90W), processing hardware is identical (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4), and the same 50MP main sensor is inherited as well. On the contrary, the display is slightly brighter, while the ultrawide, telephoto, and selfie cameras all saw minor changes. It also now supports much faster UFS 4.1 storage, and the under-screen fingerprint sensor now uses ultrasonic waves instead of conventional light.

For the Malaysian market, vivo will offer pre-order incentives for the vivo V70 from 24 February to 13 March 2026 through vivo Concept Stores, authorized retail channels, and official online platforms, subject to availability. Pre-order customers will receive an AU 999 gold wafer and additional bundled items, including vivo Buds and extended warranty coverages through vivo Care. Buyers will also have access to optional liquid protection plan and a lucky draw for a limited-edition POP MART ZSIGA gift box.
Pokdepinion: I wished smartphone designs arenβt this monotonous.
